O'MALLEY'S STEAK PUB

 AUG 2012

If you do not know Donna and I, then I should tell you we are bikers, we have been riding Harley since we were teenagers and because of that we will go to biker’s bars now and then to mix it up a little. We wanted to try a place that we have passed up on rt. 105 in Palmer Lake, Called
O'MALLEY'S STEAK PUB
104 HIGHWAY 105   PALMER LAKE, COLORADO 80133

Check the web site for Lunch and Dinner menus,,,,,, or not.
We enjoy going to different places for drinks and food and, (this is not one of those places)
Although you can sit on the deck on a nice day, and if you do just order bottle drinks.
The last time we were in this establishment I ordered Jack and Coke and Donna had a vodka Martini. We sat inside this day and I would say to you do not put your arms on the table if you don't have long sleeves on. As your skin will stick to the table that most likely has not been cleaned since Colorado became a state.
I thought, I would like to cook my own steak and when I went to the small and crowed GRILL it looked like something that they will burn the garbage on outdoors and then taken inside to have you cook steaks on, along with a cadre of flies that are allowed to roam free and harass the unfortunate people eating inside. Well I said let’s make the best of it and soldier on. Then I said if I am going to pay this kind of money for a steak, WHY am I cooking it?? Should a chef be doing that?
And I do not like using utensils for cooking on a nasty grill that other people have handled. I got up to go to the bathroom and past the kitchen (I will call it the ptomaine palace) and I wished I hadn’t  look in, I have seen cleaner underground men’s rooms in subway stations in Manhattan. The bath room is vile and the whole place needs a steam cleaning. The food is greasy, the bar is dirty, the floor has not been exposed to a mop since Doc. Holliday roamed Colorado,   and the steak was tough. To top off this calamity of stain, stench and disorder, remember that Martini Donna ordered? Well when it was finished Donna was eating the olives that were in the drink and they were rotten to the core and she almost hurled at the table. If I were giving star ratings from one to five, this establishment would get a fallen star; If you are brave enough to try this place, OH WELL!,  make sure your stomach is cast iron and your  tetanus vaccines  are up to date, Bring hand wipes. Please don’t eat anything coming out of the ptomaine palace.
Sorry for the bad news, although not really. What would you think if I said it was great??
Until next time
Live and Eat well

Steve

  1. I agree completely with your review! The place is nasty, the service poor and drinks worse. Be nice to yourself and stay away from this place even though it sometimes looks crowded--I don't know how they stay in business?
