First thing
you should know is the Name (Uniscale) means “JOIN US”
And join
them you should.
Donna and I
wanted a nice night out so we wanted to try something new.
When we
walked in I knew we were going to like this place.
We started
off with mussels steamed with white wine, sausage, red chili, garlic, olive oil
and risotto (rice) fritters with marinara gravy.
Then for our
main meal, Donna had angel hair pasta tossed with jumbo lump crab, asparagus
and tomato in lemon garlic cream and red chili oil. My dinner was beef tenderloin
grilled and topped with gorgonzola and toasted breadcrumbs, crispy potato salad
gorgonzola cream sauce, Along with our feast we had three mixed drinks each and
shared a San Pellegrino sparkling water.
The wine
list is a mix of reds and whites ranging from $22 to $225 a bottle and should
please the discriminating palettes.
This establishment
has a well laid out dining room with many windows. Although the room is small
compared to other restaurants, this room is run like a well-oiled machine by
Christine who has her eyes everywhere, and no dinner goes out of the kitchen
that she hasn’t looked at to see if all meets her high standers.
We sat at
the tasting bar next to the kitchen and watch the chefs work their magic on the
grill and salad station. We also had the chance to talk to the people that were
working the kitchen and the servers, it seemed that everyone we spoke to loves
working there and they are very personable. We were asked many times by Tom our
server, and others if we needed or wanted anything. The chef named Jason came
over and asked if our dinner was all right and could he get anything of us.
We also had
the chance to see Chris and Kim at work and it was a mastery of art, working in
a small and cramped open kitchen that can put out such fantastic food. Many
thanks, to Christina, Kim, Chris, Jason and Tom for a great dining experience.
This is a
great place to have a nice romantic dinner for two so leave the kiddies with
the babysitter and gourmandize fine food and drink. You will be glad you did.
